Loopr is a running partner app. We collect some data to make it work—location to find nearby runners, your profile to match you with compatible people, your messages to power the in-app chat. This policy explains exactly what we collect, how we use it, and what control you have over it.
We don't sell your data. We don't use it for advertising. We use it to run the app.

How We Use Your Information
We use your data to run Loopr—nothing more. Specifically:
We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell it to third parties.
Location Data
Location is central to what Loopr does—you need to know if someone is actually nearby before you agree to run with them. Here's how it works:
You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. Without it, distance-based matching won't work, but you can still use the app with a manually entered city.
Emergency Contact Data
If you add an emergency contact, we store their name and contact information securely. We use it only to display it back to you—we don't contact them, share their information with third parties, or use it for any other purpose. You can remove this information at any time from your profile settings.
Third-Party Services
Loopr is built on reliable, privacy-conscious infrastructure. Here's what each service does with your data:
Supabase
Our backend database and authentication provider. Your account, profile, and run history are stored here. Supabase stores data on AWS infrastructure in the United States.
Stream
Powers the in-app chat between matched runners. Messages you send are stored on Stream's servers. Stream's privacy policy applies to message data.
Resend
Sends transactional emails—things like match notifications, password resets, and account updates. Your email address is shared with Resend for delivery purposes only.
RevenueCat
Manages premium subscription state and entitlements. RevenueCat receives your user ID and subscription status. It doesn't receive your full profile or location data. Billing itself is handled by Apple or Google, not RevenueCat or Loopr.
Data Storage and Security
All data is stored on infrastructure located in the United States. We use encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Access to user data within our team is limited to people who need it to operate the service.
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a data breach that affects you, we'll notify you as required by law.
Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer in specific circumstances:
Your Rights
You have the right to:
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. To exercise any of these rights, email admin@runloopr.com.
Children's Policy
Loopr is for adults 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect or store personal information from anyone under 21. If we discover that we have, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at admin@runloopr.com.
Changes to This Policy
When we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you via email or an in-app notice before the changes take effect. Continuing to use Loopr after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
